ABOUT DAN SIMS ○
As founder of REVEL—the group behind category-defining events including Pinot Palooza and MOULD—and current chair of Wine Victoria, Dan has established himself as a driving force in transforming the way audiences engage with wine, producers, and place.
Over the past decade, Dan has built some of the southern hemisphere’s most distinctive and commercially successful event brands, reshaping how producers and regions connect with the public. He now brings that expertise to Common State to lead a new consultancy and advisory offering spanning wine, tourism, experiential strategy, and product development.
In this current role at Common State, Dan partners with destinations, producers and tourism bodies to create experiences that grow visitation, strengthen audience connection, and drive measurable economic return. That work is already underway, with the development and delivery of the new 'Eat Drink Play Gippsland' festival marking his first project to bring this strategy to life. A collaboration between South Gippsland Shire Council, Destination Gippsland, Wine Gippsland and Visit Victoria, the event showcases the region’s top food, wine and musical acts across a full weekend program.
