NSW Members, get involved with the WCA!

Wine Communicators of Australia (WCA) would like to invite expressions of interest from NSW based Rootlings to join WCA’s NSW State Chapter committee.

Who are Wine Communicators?

WCA is a membership body for people who write and talk about wine professionally. So called “wine communicators” include winemakers, cellar door staff, wine writers, sommeliers, wine marketing staff, wine educators, wine retail staff, wine salespeople … the list goes on!  We’ve been around for nearly 50 years.

Why join the WCA NSW State Chapter committee?

It’s a great way to build your network by working with some different people from the industry. (Aside: I was on the SA State Chapter 20 years ago and I still use the contacts I made on that committee today). Break out of your silo!

It’s rewarding to create events that help other people in the industry connect with each other.

What is involved?

The committee of 8-10 people are all volunteers. Main aim is to bring together NSW-based wine communicators socially.

Each State Chapter committee meets roughly once a month. In person if possible, or via an online meeting.

The committee plans and runs their own local events, roughly 3 to 4 per year. Small events, i.e. 30-50 attendees.

The committee also helps with name tags and raffle prizes at the Sydney Royal Wine Show in August

The committee generates revenue from event ticket sales to cover costs.

How do I put my hand up?

Complete this short Expression of Interest form. Our State Chapter Chair will review the submissions and contact you to discuss.  EOI to join WCA NSW Chapter Committee
