Rootlings Members Head to China!
A massive congratulations to Jack Burns and Sam Boyd on their successful applications to the inaugural Australia-China Winemaking Immersion Program!
Today, they, along with two other talented winemakers, embark on a one-month immersive exchange to China. They'll be diving deep into local viticultural practices, winemaking operations, and sustainability initiatives, and engaging with academic, diplomatic, and industry leaders.
Sam (Winemaker and Compliance Manager at Bimbadgen in the Hunter Valley) and Jack (Cellar Hand and Assistant Winemaker at Mollydooker Estate in McLaren Vale) met with industry heavyweights yesterday at the official launch at Penfolds Magill Estate.
This is an incredible opportunity to experience the growth of China’s wine market firsthand, as discussed at the launch event with TWE’s Kerrin Petty and Emeritus Professor Kym Anderson.
We can't wait to hear all about your adventures and the new knowledge you bring back. Well done, gentlemen!
