Great Wine Capitals Opens Applications for 2026/2027 International Research Grant

The Great Wine Capitals Global Network (GWC) has opened applications for the 2026/2027 International Research Grant, an initiative designed to support research that advances innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness in wine tourism.

Now in its fourth year, the programme supports academic research that contributes practical insights for wineries, tourism operators, and regional stakeholders across the Great Wine Capitals network. Two grants of €7,500 will be awarded to selected researchers, with up to €3,000 available for travel support to present their findings at the Great Wine Capitals Annual General Meeting (AGM) Conference in 2027.

The grant is open to undergraduate or postgraduate students and early-career researchers (with up to five years’ experience) affiliated with an academic or research institution. Applicants must conduct research related to wine tourism that has relevance to at least one of the Great Wine Capitals regions.
