Her Shout: Making your Mark on Industry Boards & Committees
Do you know what a good board does? And how do you get a seat at the table? Boards and committees influence critical decisions in our industry, and offer a meaningful way to give back while growing your own wine community.
Join us and our guest speakers on the night to unpack the world of boards and governance in a way that’s practical, supportive and relevant to the wine industry – whether you’re curious about your first committee role or an experienced board member looking to build capability.
Led by Rachel Triggs, Chair at the Wine Grape Council of SA and Australian Women in Wine, our panel will explore the fundamentals of governance: the role of a board, directors’ duties, risk, culture and decision-making. We’ll also discuss why diversity matters at the board level, and how to start positioning for roles.
Joining Rachel in the panel discussion are Helen Strachan (Chair at Australian Grape & Wine), Victoria Angove (Joint Managing Director at Angove Family Winemakers) and Jenna Vaughan (Rootlings Coordinator and Chair at Hunter Valley Marketing Committee), bringing a range of lived experience across leadership and governance roles.
Welcome drink and nibbles are included, with opportunities to mingle before and after the panel. Thanks to our venue partner Adelaide Contemporary Experimental, we are delighted to also offer attendees an exclusive mini-tour of the exhibition Anarchive: Gut-feeling, exploring the legacy of women in the Australian Experimental Art Foundation.
